How long does it take to complete an assessment
on AssessmentLeaders.com? |
|
|
How
long a candidate takes to complete an assessment can be
determined by different factors, such as the candidate's
familiarity with the subject matter, the number of questions
on the assessment, and the testing computer being used.
On average, technical assessments take between 30 and
60 minutes to complete; software, call center, skills,
and industrial assessments can take between 10 and 25
minutes to complete.
You can view the average score, current global average,
and global average time for the different assessments
administered by your account by viewing the Test Averages
report within the "View Reports" area of your
Administration Center. |

Will I be able to customize AssessmentLeaders.com
assessments? |
|
|
While
you cannot change the content of the questions or answers
you can include or exclude specific assessment questions
to build customized assessments. Here's some step-by-step
instructions:
| |
Visit the Customize a Test page within the Test
Administration area of your Administration Center.
|
| |
Select an assessment to customize and click the
Customize button. The nature of some assessments
(such as Typing or Data Entry) prevent them from
being customized; therefore, they will not appear
in the list.
|
| |
Give
your customized assessment a title and description.
|
| |
The
questions that are currently included on the assessment
are checked. To exclude a question from your customized
assessment just un-check it. To include a question
on your customized assessment just make sure it
is checked.
|

Click the Create button.

you have customized a Assessment Leaders assessment you can

I seem to be administering the same group
of assessments to different candidates. Can I speed up
the testing process? |
|
|
Yes,
by creating a batch, or group, of assessments. Here's
some step-by-step directions:
| |
Visit the Create Test Batch page within the Test
Administration area of your Administration Center.
|
| |
Give
your batch of assessments a descriptive title.
|
| |

the Available Tests on the right and click the Add
button.
|
| |
After selecting all the assessments you want in

11. |
Are these assessments timed? Will candidates
be kicked out of the assessments after a certain amount
of time? |
|
|
Assessment Leadersdoes NOT impose time limits on assessments in order
to ensure there is not any discrimination against any
candidates or violation of candidates' rights under the
American Disabilities Act (ADA). Candidates will not be
kicked out of the assessments. However, it will be noted
what time each candidate started the test, finished the
test, and how long it took the candidate to answer each
question.
If there is a prolonged period of inactivity during one
of the assessments, for security reasons the candidate
will be logged out of the testing system. However, all
he or she has to do is log back into the testing system
with the test session ID provided by the test administrator;
in almost all cases the candidate will be able to re-start
the assessment from where he or she left off. |

|
|
12. |
If a candidate begins an assessment and
can't complete it right away, can the candidate take the
assessment again later? Will the candidate's progress
be saved? Will he or she be able to pick up from where
he or she left off? |
|
|
It
depends. If the candidate completed the assessment he
or she would not be able to re-enter that assessment.
To complete an assessment the candidate must answer all
questions presented or choose to leave the assessment
early. If the candidate is unable to complete the assessment
due to loss of Internet service or other computer problems,
he or she will be able to re-enter the assessment. In
most cases, the candidate will be able to pick up where
he or she left off. Due to the nature of some assessments
(such as Typing or Data Entry), questions must be answered
in one sitting and in a sequential order. For these types
of assessments, the candidate will be able to re-enter
the assessment but would have to begin again from the
first question. |

the candidates - no feedback (so you know their results
before they do), summary feedback, or detailed feedback.

How do I get the results of a AssessmentLeaders.com
assessment? |
|
|
Results are available immediately after your candidate
completes his or her assessment. There are two ways to
receive results from AssessmentLeaders.com: via email and
the tools within your Administration Center.
|
|
Email: Visit the Change Settings page. Verify that
your email address is correct and then choose to
receive either summary results or full, detailed
results. If you choose not to receive any emailed
results you can still access your results by using
the tools within your Administration Center.
|
|
|
Administration Center: Your results can be accessed
by viewing your current test sessions as well as
through three different reports.
- Current Test Sessions
-
All of the open test sessions for your
account are listed here; once a session
has expired or been completed it will
drop off this list. There are three possible
statuses for each assessment: Not Started,
In Progress, and Completed. The status
will tell you where your candidate is
in the testing process. If you see that
your candidate's status is "Completed"
you can immediately view the results by
clicking on the word "Completed."
- Test Usage Report
-
Perform a search by date range, candidate
information, and/or test name. Any matching
results will be displayed in a report.
From that report you can view the detailed
results.
- Test Averages Report
-
After searching by a date range, you'll
see a list of the assessments your account
has administered during that time along
with the average score, number of administrations,
current global average, and current global
average time. Select a test and "View
Details" - next you'll be presented
with a list of the candidates who have
taken that assessment. Select a candidate
and "View Details" to see the
detailed score report for that person's
result.
- Hall of Fame Report
-
After searching by a date range, you'll
see a list of the assessments your account
has administered during that time along
with the candidate who achieved the highest
score. Selecting a candidate and clicking
the "View Details" button will
give you the detailed score report for
that person's result.

My candidate assures me that he/she finished
the assessment, but I didn't get the emailed results yet.
What should I do? |
|
|
There
are several things that you can do:
| |
Make
sure your account is set up to receive emailed results.
This option can be enabled within the Change Settings
area of the Administration Center.
|
| |
Verify that the email address we have for your account
is correct. This also can be done from the Change
Settings area of the Administration Center.
|
| |
Is
your account set up to receive an email notification
each time a candidate starts an assessment? If so,
did you receive this notification? If you did not,
it is possible that the candidate did not start
the test yet.
|
| |
Check your current test sessions; there are three
possible status for each assessment: Not Started,
In Progress, and Completed. The status will tell
you where your candidate is in the testing process.
If you see that your candidate's status is "Completed"
you can immediately view the results by clicking
on the word "Completed."
|
| |
Perform a search by date range, candidate information,
and/or test name. Any results that match your search
criteria will be displayed in a report. From that
report you can view the detailed results.

What are AssessmentLeaders.com's minimum
system requirements? What browser options are needed to

Our
complete list of system requirements and can be found
by clicking here. If you are
not sure if your computer meets or exceeds all of our
minimum system requirements, please contact someone within

you check your browser settings prior to beginning any

One of the system requirements is that
testing computers have a Virtual Machine (VM) version
3310 or higher. How do I know what version of VM my testing
computer has? How do I get the VM if the testing computer
doesn't have it already? How do I get a newer version
if the testing computer's version is too low?
|
|
|
If
you have one of our supported browsers installed on your
computer there is a good chance that your VM level is
sufficient; many browser versions automatically included
some version of the VM with their installation routine.
However, your VM level may be outdated.
The easiest way to check for the presence & version
of your VM is to check your browser settings. If your
VM level is too low or does not exist, you may want to
upgrade to the newest version of your preferred supported
browser. If you choose to upgrade your browser, and are
given a choice of installation options, please make sure
to choose the installation option that includes support
for Java.
If you like, you can get Sun Microsystem's Java Virtual
Machine by clicking here. If you are not comfortable completing
the installation on your own, you may wish to ask a member
of your company's Computer Support division for help or
contact our HelpDesk for assistance. |

I access assessments on AssessmentLeaders.com? |
|

Yes;
if you are using AOL you can connect to the Internet using
your AOL account. Please note that we do not support AOL's
proprietary browser: once connected, you must minimize
AOL's browser and use one of the browsers supported by
AssessmentLeaders.com (either Internet Explorer or Netscape
Navigator). If you do not have either of these browsers
installed on your computer you can download them for free

I use Netscape to administer assessments,
and sometimes it looks like some of the pictures are missing.
Is this an error? What can I do? |
|
|
This
is not an error. Netscape browsers occasionally have trouble
"painting" some graphic-intensive questions.
Try minimizing and then restoring the testing window;
when the testing window is restored you should see all
of the graphics. If minimizing and restoring the testing
window does not correct the problem, please contact our
Helpdesk for assistance. |

My candidate is getting a message that
reads "Your test has been paused due to your prolonged
inactivity on the previous test question. Please log back
in to finish your test." What does this mean?
|
|
|
This
is not an error. All candidates have thirty minutes to
complete a question and move on to the next question.
If the candidate exceeds the thirty minute limit on a
particular question, he/she just needs to log back into
the testing system and resume the assessment.
If your candidate receives this message before answering
his or her first question, it is very likely that he/she
is attempting to test from within a program that integrates
with a web browser, such as Microsoft Outlook. If this
is the case, your candidate simply needs to test entirely
from one of our supported browsers rather than from the
program with the integrated web browser. Feel free to
contact our HelpDesk for more information about this.

What are the Writing Samples Scenarios?
Are they really Free? |
|
|
Because gauging writing skills is a highly subjective
endeavor, we leave it to you to determine the level of
writing effectiveness represented by a candidates writing
sample. It is for this reason that we provide a controlled,
immediate writing environment to help assess the skill
of the writer, in context. This writing environment is
not scored and provided to our customers free of charge.
Assessment Leaders does offer Business Writing, a scored, multiple-choice
test that focuses on such skills as brainstorming, grammar,
organization, approaches to writing and letter writing.

28. |
How can I determine benchmark scores?
|
|
|
As
each environment requires different thresholds of ability,
it is recommended that you, the test administrator, determine
the best benchmark for your candidates. An effective way
to go about this is by administering the test to those
employees that have already proven their abilities in
the position for which you are testing. Through gathering
their scores, you will have a good idea of a benchmark
that will work well for your specific work environment.
